    Please read the terms and conditions carefully before using and/or registering the Learning Management System by accessing or using the site or any mobile versions of it or by linking to it, you signify that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions. You must not use data mining, AI, scraping or similar data gathering or extraction methods on any part of this site without KCIC prior written consent.

    1. INTRODUCTION

    These website terms and conditions contained herein on this webpage, shall your use of this website, including all pages within this website. These terms apply in full force and effect to your use of this website and by using this website, you expressly accept all terms and conditions contained herein in full. You must not use this website, if you have any objection to any of these website standard terms and conditions. This website is not for use by public but exclusively to KCIC Students and Staff.

    Other than content you own, which you may have opted to include on this website, under these terms, KCIC and/or licensors own all rights to the intellectual property and material contained in this website, and all such rights are reserved. You are granted a limited access only, subject to the restrictions provided in these terms, for the purpose of viewing material contained on this website.

    9. VARIATION OF TERMS

    KCIC reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to make any changes to the site and levels of service offered and to terminate access at any time. KCIC is permitted to revise these terms at anytime as it sees fit, anny by using this website you are expected to review such terms on a regular basis to ensure you understand all terms and conditions governing the use of this website.

    10. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION

    These terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Tamilnadu, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the state and courts located in Tamilnadu for the resolution of any disputes.

    11. USER PRIVACY

    Registration details or other information you provide to KCIC as part of registration process will be kept confidential. Your privacy is extremely important to us, we are committed to protecting any personal information submitted and comply with relevant data protection laws.

    12. THIRD PARTY LINKS

    Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites hav/e separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

    13. ATTENDANCE POLICY

    It is important for the students to have an understanding of the importance of attendance in college. Students are required to attend at least 75% (Academic 75% and Practical 75%) of their classes. Learners who do not attend 75% of the sessions will be asked to repeat the subject/unit to ensure that they have met sufficient guided learning hours. A leverage of 10% attendance is given to the students who are undergoing medical treatments, which are evidenced in the form of a medical certificate. The teachers will contact the learners by phone or email in regards to their attendance percentage. This will determine if the learner is at risk of not meeting the academic requirements of the unit. The teacher may report the concerning progression to the finance team to lock/unlock the access to the concerned subject/unit in LMS. Students who lack 75% attendance shall also pay a condonation fees that is prescribed by the management inorder to submit the assignments.

    14. ASSESSMENT POLICY

    The assessment of Pearson BTEC Higher National Qualifications is criterion-referenced and requires assessment of learner’s evidence against published learning outcomes and assessment criteria. All units will be individually graded as “PASS”,”MERIT”,”DISTINCTION” or “REFERRAL”. The subjects/Units in BTEC Higher National Qualifications will have a standard format which is designed to provide clear guidance on the requirements of the qualification for learners. This credit framework gives transparency to the assessment process and provides for the establishment of national standards for each qualification. The students have to meet the assessment criteria set out in the specification to achieve the grade. Results of the subjects/unit shall be published online through KCIC LMS after Pearson standard verifier visit and agrees/approved the grade awarded. Necessary certifications shall be issued manually by the institution.

    15. FEES POLICY

    KCIC LMS shall be linked with payment of course fees and other fees prescribed by KCIC and it shall provide auto-access to those students who have paid in full. In case of delay in payment LMS website shall auto-shut access to those students who have pending payments. After a said period, student shall pay a re-registration feest to KCIC an additional amount of Rs30,000/- along with the prescribed fees to grant access to the LMS.

    16. LATE SUBMISSION POLICY

    The students must submit their completed assignments in the form of PDF/Presentations in Canvas LMS on or before deadline. All the evidence must be uploaded in the respective module to avoid REFERRAL. The student will not be able to submit assignments after the due date as the assignment module will be closed automatically. On failing to submit on deadline, the students will have to retake the module the following year with new assignment comprising only PASS criteria.

    17. PLAGIARISM POLICY

    “Plagiarism” means to use another person’s inventions, ideas or writing and claim it as won. The maximum allowed/accepted percentage of plagiarism is 15%. The student work must be 85% genuine/original.

    18. APPEALS POLICY

    Academic appeal regarding assessments can be made by the students in order to promote the timely and fair resolution of issues. KCIC will not normally investigate anonymous complaints unless the complaint is given in written and prescribed format with sufficient information provided.

    19. COMMUNICATION

    KCIC shall use the LMS for its communication purpose, to inform students on the latest events and activities of the colleges.

    20. BRIDGING/PYP/GET/ONLINE PROGRAMS

    All PG Students who have enrolled for the bridging programs and online programs shall use the LMS with specific regulatory controls set by the management. Graduate Engineering Trainee program students shall use the LMS with specified duration of time.
